1936 – 2013
Marcella E. Kamphaus, 76 formerly of Raeville, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2013 at the Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center in Albion.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church at Raeville with Rev. Bernard Starman officiating. Interment followed in the parish cemetery.

Marcella Emma Kamphaus, daughter of Raphael J. and Rose Marie (Neuhalfen) Dendinger, was born December 8, 1936 at Hartington.
She was baptized at East Bow Catholic Church near Hartington, and was confirmed at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in O’Neill. She attended numerous grade schools in Nebraska and graduated high school at Minong, WI in 1953. She worked as a telephone operator and school secretary in Wisconsin before returning to Nebraska in 1958 where she worked at the Harding Creamery in O’Neill.
On January 7, 1961, Marcella married Anthony Clements Kamphaus at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in O’Neill.
The couple made their home on a farm in the Raeville area where she was a housewife and mother to her four children: Robert, Alvin, Eugene, and Mary.
In November 2012, the couple moved to Samaritan Estates Assisted Living in Albion, and in August 2013, Marcella entered the Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center in Albion.
Marcella was a very active member of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church serving as bookkeeper for 15 years, and the Christian Mothers group, serving as president several terms. She was involved as Band Mother for Elgin Public School’s Band, sponsoring many Band and FFA bus trips.
She is survived by her husband Anthony of Albion; four children: Robert (Elise) Kamphaus of Plattsmouth; Alvin (Karen) Kamphaus of Seward; Eugene Kamphaus of Swanville, MN; Mary (Rob) Hanson of Soldotna, AK; 10 grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
Marcella was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Bernadette Jacques and husband Pat; one sister-in-law; three brothers-in-law; and one great granddaughter.
