Elgin High School was surrounded by the sounds of music Saturday during the Elementary Solo-Ensemble Music Contest. Twelve schools from around the area participated in the event. Altogether, there were over 300 entries. Sharla Schindler, who performed a flute solo, is shown receiving instruction from judge Larry Jones. For her efforts, Schindler received a ‘superior’ rating.
