Services for Lorene A. Oberhauser, 95, of Lindsay, were held at 10 a.m. on Friday, January 20, at Holy Family Church in Lindsay.
The Celebrant was Father Jim Novotny. Burial followed in the Holy Family Cemetery. Visitation was held Thursday, January 19, at Holy Family Church, with a rosary service at 7 p.m.
She passed away peacefully at the Good Samaritan Estates in Albion on January 17.

Lorene was born July 24, 1921, to Frank and Elizabeth (Dozler) Selting in Elgin. She graduated from Raeville High School in 1938.
She traveled by train to Omaha where she worked as a nanny for two years. She returned to Elgin and worked at the Bank of Elgin before marrying Jerry Oberhauser in Elgin on August 20,1957.
Lorene helped Jerry on their farm north of Lindsay and worked at the Bank of Lindsay for 18 years.
Lorene had been a member of several local clubs including card, bridge and pinochle. She was a member of the Lindsay Holy Family Guild and a lifetime member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to play cards, write letters and visit with family and friends. In their retirement, Lorene and Jerry enjoyed traveling and Nebraska football games.
Lorene had enjoyed the last year and a half at the Good Samaritan Estates in Albion.
Lorene is survived by her brother Melvin (Pat) Selting of O’Neill; sisters-in-law Dorothy Oberhauser of Columbus and Connie (Dale) Daigh of Bellevue; brothers-in-law Dennis Steiner of Columbus and Tony (Joan) Oberhauser of Bellevue; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry, sisters Irma (Louis) Hageman, Delores (Earl) Schulze, and Joyce (Joe) Temme, and sister-in-law Betty (Oberhauser) Steiner.
Lorene’s quick wit and kindness will be missed by her family and many friends.
