Lois E. Miller, 89 of Norfolk, NE formerly of Elgin, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at the Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk.
Funeral services were held Friday, June 30, 2017 at the United Methodist Church in Elgin with Rev. Katie Miller officiating. Burial followed in the Oakdale Cemetery at Oakdale, NE.

Lois Elaine Miller, the daughter of John and Myrtle (Grubbs) Dean was born on September 21, 1927 at Brunswick, NE.  She attended school in Brunswick and graduated from Brunswick High School in 1945.
Following graduation Lois worked as a telephone operator, and part-time at JC Penney in Neligh.
On September 21, 1946 Lois was united in marriage to Gerald Miller at Neligh.  The couple lived in Elgin where Lois worked in many different businesses in town including Wards Home Appliance, Faubels Grocery Store, Kumms Craft Store, and The Elgin Review.  She also babysat out of her home.
Lois was a member of the United Methodist Women’s Auxiliary and bowled for many, many years.
She also was a seamstress and made her family clothing.  Lois enjoyed quilting, crocheting and baking.
She was an avid sports fan and Husker fan, no matter what sport it was she was watching it.  She rarely missed any of her grandchildren’s sporting events.
Lois is survived by her husband Gerald of Norfolk, NE; two children: Barb (Greg) McLain of Shawnee, OK; John (Sandy) of Lincoln, NE; seven grandchildren: Mary (Josh) Hopkins, Matthew (Kara) McLain; Mark (fiancé Paige) McLain all of Shawnee, OK; Ross Miller of Stuart, NE; Randi Miller, and Seth Miller of Lincoln, NE; three great-grandchildren: Baylor Brannan, Charli McLain, and Grayson Witt; sister Ruby Shong of Westminster, CO; brother Harold Dean of Las Vegas, NV; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson Micah McLain, sisters: Viola Allemung, Ivadelle Uwaldt, and Dorothy Rouse; and brother Walter Dean.
