Winter Wheat Meeting to be in O’Neill

UNL Winter Wheat Meeting and Tour Crop producers and others who would like to learn first-hand information about growing wheat under center-pivot irrigation are invited to a workshop and tour in O’Neill on Friday, June 17.

The workshop will begin with breakfast at the Blarney Stone Restaurant at 9 a.m.

Following a short program by UNL Extension Specialists and local seed suppliers, the group will travel to the plots north of O’Neill.  Here they will view several University of Nebraska winter wheat varieties growing under center-pivot irrigation.  They will be able to compare and learn about recommended varieties, and newly released varieties says, UNL Extension Educator, Dewey Teel.
