Three Antelope County men will soon see their day in court following arraignment hearings held Wednesday, Jan. 30, in the Antelope County District Court.
Judge James Kube heard pleas from all three during court hearings.
Matthew Hinrichsen, age 33 of Ewing had not guilty pleas entered by his attorney Pat Carney for each of his four charges. Those charges are two counts of first-degree murder, two counts of use of a firearm to commit a felony and one count of arson. All counts are in connection with the December 2012 deaths of Victoria D. Lee and Gabino A. Vargas of Ewing. Kube set a pretrial conference for March 27 and trial on April 8, 2013.
Hinrichsen continues to be held without bond at the Nebraska Department of Corrections Diagnostic and Evaluation Center in Lincoln.
Aaron White, age 38 of Brunswick, had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf – also by attorney Carney on four charges. Those charges are one count of assault on a police officer and three counts of criminal mischief. White’s charges stem from a December 2012 disturbance which began at a school in Plainview. Kube set his pretrial conference for February 27 and trial for April 8. White is currently being held in the Antelope County Jail. Bond continues to be set at $1 million.
Brett Ohde, age 24 of Stuart, pleaded not guilty to his three charges. He faces one count each of second degree assault, burglary and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony (non-firearm). His charges are in connection with a New Year’s Day incident in Orchard where he allegedly entered a home and assaulted a Orchard man with a knife. At the request of Antelope County Attorney Joe Abler, trial date has been set back to June 10, 2013 to enable the county time to collect depositions from all involved.
Ohde’s pretrial conference will be on March 27. Ohde is out on bond.
