Preparations are underway for the 31st annual Nebraska State Antique Tractor and Horse Plowing Bee and Rae Valley Old Thresher’s Reunion to be held the weekend of Aug. 23-25.
Sponsored by the Rae Valley Heritage Association, Friday activities will include a tractor cade which is expected to arrive at the location of the event, just west of Petersburg, by 5 p.m. Friday.
Featured all three days of the event will be steam engines, a working blacksmith, shingle mill, gas engines, antique tractor, saw mill as well as horse-powered machinery. Family activities have always been a feature of the celebration and this year will be no different. There will be a sand pile, kiddie rides, money scramble, parade Saturday and Sunday, and a pedal tractor pull competition.
On both Saturday and Sunday, there will be a flea market.
A consignment auction will be held Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m. The stock antique tractor pull is slated to get underway at noon.
