Family and friends of Fred and the late Mary Jo Nelson of rural Elgin are inviting everyone to take part in a benefit this Saturday, May 22, at the Elgin Community Center. Burgers and the fixings will be served from 5-7:30 pm. All proceeds from the event will help defray medical costs. Fred has been receiving treatments for cancer and Mary Jo recently lost her battle with luekemia. A free-will offering will be accepted and the funds will be matched by Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.
