Saturday night brought abundant love and laughter to the aisles at Peace UCC in Tilden. From the solos at the pre-performance dessert to the closing lines of the evening, love was in the air. The Candy Project, a foursome based out of Omaha and featuring Elgin native Amanda Miller, sang and joked their way through the highs and lows of romance in today’s crazy world. Between the songs, their show was sprinkled with the anxiety of dating and pressure to find love, especially around Valentine’s Day plus little know facts about Tilden…you know, it is the home of the Hot Pocket (not really). Accompanist Pat Miller of Elgin ultimately held the solution to the men’s woes. If you have an opportunity, be sure to catch a performance of The Candy Project. Members of the cabaret are Amanda Miller, Cathy Hirsch, Andy King and Dan Chevalier.
