County Budget Hearing to be September 8

The proposed budget to be considered by the supervisors came as a result of cutting $300,000 at a meeting earlier this month.

Supervisors agreed to cut more than $200,000 from the ‘at large’ road and bridge fund.

As a result of their action, the fund will now be reduced to $1.55 million.

Other large budget cuts made at the meeting were more than $24,000 from the county sheriff’s budget; $15,200 from the budget for the weed control authority; and $20,000 from the District #6 budget.

As a result, the supervisors will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, September 8.

The hearing will be held at 10 a.m. in the Antelope County Supervisors’ room at the Antelope County Court House. The meeting is open to the public.
