Meeting Monday night, the Elgin Community Club discussed scheduling dates for two Elgin events.
Approximately 20 persons attended the meeting held at the Steel Steed Steakhouse & Saloon.
Club President Jeremy Young led the discussion on scheduling the dates for Vetch Days. At previous meetings there has been discussion of wanting to move the annual celebration to a weekend as opposed to having the event held during the week. In recent years the dates for the celebration have been determined by when a carnival could come to town.
Young said he had been in contact with Richards’ Amusements, the carnival which has been coming to Elgin since DC Lynch decided not to come back years ago. Young said he asked Richards’ Amusements if there was any chance of being available for a weekend. He said the answer was ‘no’.
