Liermans Placed Under Arrest

Wondering what those sirens racing through Elgin were for Tuesday?
The Antelope County Sheriff’s Office and the Nebraska State Patrol arrested a Neligh resident Tuesday afternoon.
Darryl Lierman, 49, was arrested pursuant to an arrest warrant charging him with 11 felony charges filed directly in the Antelope County District Court. The Nebraska State Patrol SWAT Team effectuated the arrest warrant without incident, according to a press release issued by Antelope County Attorney Joe Abler.
The charges range from four counts of First Degree Sexual Assault of a Child, Class IB felonies, to three counts of Third Degree Sexual Assault of a Child, and four counts of Child Abuse, all Class IIIA felonies.
Class IB felonies have a penalty range of a minimum penalty of 20 years imprisonment and a maximum of life imprisonment. Class IIIA felonies have a penalty range of no minimum and a maximum of five years imprisonment. Lierman is currently being held at the Madison County Law Enforcement Center.
Julie Lierman was also arrested for the offense of Child Neglect, a Class I misdemeanor.
