Laura K. Rommers, 63, of Ewing, NE passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017 at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk.
Memorial services will be 2:30 p.m., Friday, July 14, at the United Methodist Church in Ewing, with Pastor Stewart Davis officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 12, from 5-8 p.m. at the church. Huffman-Levander Funeral Home of Elgin, is in charge of the arrangements.

Laura Kay Rommers, the daughter of Wilson “Dutch” and Connie (Wilcox) Spangler, was born on May 18, 1954 in Neligh, NE. Laura grew up with a passion for her two horses Lucky and Queenie. She was known for riding her white horse Lucky all over! She was baptized at the Ewing United Methodist Church, and attended Ewing Public Schools, graduating in 1972. Following her high school graduation Laura worked at Dale Electronics in Norfolk, NE.
Laura was married to Albert Rommers at the Ewing United Methodist Church from 1975 to 1982.
In 1984, she started working at Ewing Public Schools as a teacher’s aide, and was currently a bus driver for the school. Laura was a record keeper for the local Boy Scout troop in Ewing, and was a lifetime member of the Ewing United Methodist Church.
In addition, she also a licensed lay speaker for the church. Laura had a passion for painting and drawing, taking care of her flower beds, and the color lavender.
She liked lavender so much that she even had her house painted lavender, which could be easily noticed from the highway going through town.
Overall, her love for her family, friends, and most of all her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ shined strong throughout her life.
Laura is survived by her son: Aaron Rommers of Ewing, NE; one granddaughter: Samantha Rommers of Arizona City, AZ; three sisters: Thelma Lamb of Grand Island, NE; Sharron Christiansen of Norfolk, NE; Gwen (Jim) Kethcart of Norfolk, NE; one brother: Jerry (Jessie) Spangler of Ewing, NE; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: Billy Spangler; and one sister: Lois Willers.
