Late TD Seals Wolfpack’s 32 to 22 Victory over Creighton

Ahead by two points with nine minutes to go, the EPPJ Wolfpack burned seven minutes off the clock before fullback Blake Anderson sealed the victory with a touchdown plunge. Then, on the ensuing kickoff, kicker Nick Heithoff squibbed the ball and Creighton fumbled the ball into the hands of Austin Heying. The Wolfpack then ran out the clock for a 32 to 22 to remain undefeated in a battle between two of the best 8-man football teams in the state.

Creighton jumped out to a 14 to 0 lead before the Wolfpack got things going in the second quarter. Quarterback Ross Schindler scored on a 17-yard run midway through the quarter. Then, moments later, Andrew Heithoff picked off a Creighton pass and returned it 70 yards for a touchdown. The two-point conversion was good, giving the Wolfpack a 16 to 14 lead at halftime.

The Wolfpack increased their lead to 24 to 14 midway through the third quarter as Schindler skirted along the right sideline 43 yards for a touchdown. Blake Anderson added the two-point conversion.

Creighton answered back with a a touchdownby Jacob Morrill. A successful two-point conversion made the score 24 to 22 heading into the fourth quarter.

The victory boosted the Wolfpack’s record to 4-0.
