The first time was a smash. The second time promises to be even better. The Elgin Knights of Columbus are in the process of preparing for the second annual “Soup Cook Off & Tasting.” The event is scheduled for March 19, at the Elgin K.C. Hall.
Doors will open and soup will be served, starting at 5:30 p.m. Special entertainment for the event will begin at 6:30 p.m.
According to Jason Hoefer, those attending will be able to sample an assortment of soups, plus enjoy a bowl of the house vegetable beef or chili soups. Also, those attending will be able to vote for their favorite soup from a limited number of entries.
Entries are now being accepted for the cook off. Persons interested should contact Hoefer (402-843-8054) or Jerry Heithoff (402-843-2467) by Friday, March 11.
