Hunter Qualifies for State Golf

Wolfpack senior golfer Hunter Reestman will once again take part in the Class D State Golf Tournament.
Competing Monday at the D-2 District Golf Tournament played at Club 91 at Leigh, Reestman finished among the top 10 individuals to earn a berth at the state golf tournament next week.
Reestman carded an 18-holes score of 88 to place seventh. The top score was turned in by senior Jordan McBride of Burwell who shot an 81.
”It’s amazing. I went from starting out not being able to even swing a club to qualifying for state,” Reestman said. “Hard work pays off. I couldn’t have done it without my parents, Mr. Ostransky, and Mr. Childers.
“After a promising finish last year, I hoped to come back even stronger. Then the surgery kind of set me back. I knew it’d be a lot of work to try and get back to where I was. When I first started I tried everything to find a comfortable swing: changing my grip, swinging lighter, and etc. Eventually, it all came together and I found my game again. I can’t wait to see what North Platte brings this year now that I’m familiar with the course.”
Other EPPJ scores were Conor Ramold and Kyle Schumacher each shooting 105, Skylar Reestman 111 and Adam Dreger 124.
