Mad Science of Pella, IA paid a visit to the Elgin Community Center on Thursday afternoon. Youth and adults alike were treated to an array of science demonstrations and factoids during “Dr. Shock”s visit. Here, Kellan Hoefer helped show how the layers of the earth’s crust create pressure on the center core and produce heat.
