Golfers Fourth at West Holt Invite

ATKINSON — The sun was shining Saturday. That’s about all that was positive for the Atkinson West Holt Golf Invitational.

Strong winds and cool temperatures made the 18-hole tournament a challenge for all who competed.

Medalist for the invite was Mitchell Klooz of Plainview who shot a 73 over 18 holes. Teammate Sam Meuret was second with a 75. Plainview had three of the top four golfers.

Nick Heithoff led the Wolfpack with an 88, good for 12th place on the leaderboard. Andrew Heithoff shot a 90 to finish 14th. Other Wolfpack scores were Zach Baker 91, Evan Parks 92 and Tyler Childers 108.

Plainview won the golf tournament with a team score of 317. O’Neill was second at 349 followed by Neligh-Oakdale 357, EPPJ 361, Creighton 384, West Holt 393, Ewing 400, North Central 401, Niobrara/Verdigre 415, Orchard-Clearwater 422, Burwell 464, West Boyd 1287, Ainsworth 2131, West Holt JV 2234 and Stuart 3117.
