Geraldine (Hand) Bader, age 83, died December 24, 2014. She was born October 27, 1931 in Edison, NE to Fritz and Hazel (Whyte) Hand.
She started teaching in a one room school house in rural Nebraska.
An exceptional storyteller, she was gifted at entertaining children while teaching them.
A member of Bethany First Church of the Nazarene, she was a former president of the Kumjoynus class.
She was also active in Southern Nazarene University’s Association of Retired Professionals.
Gerry and her husband Dean resided in Colorado for more than 46 years where he owned his barbershop business and she worked as a business woman.
They moved to Yukon, Oklahoma in 2003.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 57 years, Dean Richard Bader; and brother, Walter Hand. Survivors include her sons, Ted and wife Marilyn of Yukon OK, Edward and wife Dee of Portland OR; sisters, Jackie Dwyer of Elgin and Janet Warner of Edison; brothers, Larry Hand of McCook and Phillip Hand of Hebron; four grandchildren, Trudee, Luke, Joshua and Samuel; and 14 great-grandchildren.
