According to members of the Park Center church, the telescoping flagpole at the cemetery was discovered missing on Sunday. Pastor Janet Davis reports, “On a sad note, when the Park church member who takes care of the flag brought it over to put it up today (Sunday), it was discovered that the flagpole was missing!”
The pole is a telescoping pole and had been retracted down. “Apparently, someone ‘lifted it’ out of the sleeve it is installed in and took off with it,” said Davis. “It is hard to believe that someone thought that they needed it worse than a cemetery — and right before Memorial Day!”
