First Day Of School At EPS Is August 14

Thursday, August 14, will mark the first day of classes for students attending Elgin Public Schools.
Summer vacation for students was just short of three months. On the first day of classes, school will begin at 8:15 a.m. and dismiss at 1 p.m. Morning pre-school will be held from 8:15 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on the first day.
Afternoon preschool will begin on Monday, Aug. 18.
Beginning on Friday, Aug. 15, students will adhere to a regular schedule for school. Classes will begin at 8:15 a.m. and run til 3:43 p.m. (high school) and 3:40 p.m. (K-6). Morning preschool (four-year-olds) will be held each weekday from 8:15 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Afternoon preschool (three-year-olds) will be Monday thru Thursday from 1 p.m. to 3:40 p.m.
Breakfast and lunch will begin on Aug. 14. Breakfast will be $1.40 and will begin at 7:45 a.m. Student lunches will be priced at $2 for PreK-6; $2.25 for grades 7-12 per meal. Extra milk is 35 cents/carton. EPS faculty are:
