FFA Members Do Well At State Range Judging Contest

Eight Elgin FFA members made the long trip out to Scottsbluff last Tuesday and Wednesday to compete in the Nebraska State Range Judging competition.
Coming off of a great performance at the Area V contest held in the Eastern part of the state, these eight judgers were excited to see what the Western part of the state had to offer.
The students did really well despite a huge difference in terms of vegetation and landscape.
Here are the results:
Sr. Division: Eli Heilhecker was the top placer for Elgin finishing 12th among 190 participants. As a team, Eli, Trey, Kelsey and Taylor finished 14th out of 47 teams.
Jr. Division: Marie Meis was the top placer for Elgin finishing 18th out of 219 particpants. Calli Krebs also placed in the top 25 percent earning a ribbon at 41st place.
As a team, Marie, Calli, Cole and Taralyn finished 15th out of 57 total Jr. Teams.
Our FFA chapter expressed their appreciation for instructor Wes Prater for taking FFA members out to the contest.
