An Elgin man has been recognized by the Nebraska Community College Association (NCCA).
Karl Hensley was honored for outstanding career achievement with the NCCA’s Northeast Community College Area Distinguished Alumni Award during the organization’s annual meeting, held at Mid-Plains Community College in North Platte.
The award is presented annually to one alumnus from five of the state’s community college areas.
Hensley is a dedicated individual who has given of his time and talents to his state, community and his alma mater, Northeast Community College.
“Hensley has been an instrumental part of the agriculture department at Northeast Community College as a business and industry partner as well as an alumnus,” said Hilary Maricle, associate dean of agriculture, math and science at Northeast. “Central Valley Ag continues to be one of the leading employers of agriculture students. In 2010, Karl Hensley increased his role at Northeast by agreeing to serve on our Ag Advisory Committee.” “As we look into the future of agriculture, things are changing and evolving quickly and Hensley has pushed Northeast Community College ag faculty to evaluate and improve the curriculum to meet the needs of students as well as business and industry,” Maricle said.
