NORFOLK — Walking off the field victorious is something Wolfpack football stars Kyle Kallhoff and Andrew Fangman did frequently last season. They did it one more time Saturday as members of the White Team, claiming a 49 to 14 victory at the Northeast Nebraska All-Star Football Classic.
Fangman rushed for 57 yards and Kallhoff helped lead a defense which held the Red Team scoreless in the second half.
The White Team filled the air with passes as Norfolk High’s quarterback Gunner Fuelberth completed 21 of 35 pass attempts for 311 yards and five touchdowns.
Fuelberth’s touchdown passes were 75 yards to Boone Central’s Kyle Kramer (on the White’s third play of the game), 13 yards to Tanner Ortmeier of Guardian Angels Central Catholic, 11 yards to Cody Mace of Oakland-Craig, and scores of 11- and 12-yards to Norfolk High teammate Aaron Wilken.
On defense, the White Team held the Red Team to 60 yards rushing and 148 yards passing.
The White Team also picked up 104 rushing yards, with Elgin Public/Pope John’s Andrew Fangman carrying the ball 17 times for 57 yards, including a two-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter.
Fuelberth was named the “Offensive Player of the Game” honors for the White Team. On defense the White Team’s “Defensive Player of the Game” was Clearwater-Orchard’s lineman Andy Kerkman.
Fangman will play Saturday at the Sertoma Eight-Man All-Star Game in Hastings. Kickoff will be at 1:30 p.m.
