Little over one week remains before the annual “Evening With Friends” gala arrives in Elgin.
The event, sponsored by the Committee for the Continuation of Pope John, always promises to be an evening of fine food, games, entertainment, elegance and fundraising. And it always delivers!
This year, the fifteenth annual, will be held on Sunday, January 25 at the Elgin Knights of Columbus Hall. Emcees for the evening are Dave Amick and Gary Hoefer.
Social hour at the bar (including appetizers) and silent auction bidding will begin at 5 p.m. The dinner will be served at 6 p.m. This year’s menu will be Prime Rib or Crunchy Parmesan Chicken, Dutchess Potatoes, Green Beans with Red Peppers, Bacon and Almonds, Green Salad with Cranberries and Almonds and Dinner Rolls. Assorted Cheesecakes will be the evening’s dessert.
