Elgin Public Schools is proud to release the names of the recent inductees to the EHS Hall of Fame.
To be inducted this year are Gary Wilkinson, a 1961 Elgin Public School graduate, the 1964 undefeated football team and the 1967 undefeated football team.
The ceremony will take place Friday, Jan. 18, at Elgin Public School during halftime of the boys varsity basketball game against Ewing.
Wilkinson received numerous letters and several distinguished awards throughout his involvement in football, basketball and swing choir.
Throughout his football career, he was a four- year letter winner. He was also recognized by the Omaha World Herald as an All-State football player in 1959 and 1960. Wilkinson was also named All-American by the Wigwam Wiseman of America and The Sporting News. Other accolades include being chosen to the National High School All-American team; he was one of 16 Nebraska student-athletes to earn that honor.
