Elizabeth F. “Betty” Friese, 70 of Petersburg, NE, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2013, at Mid-Nebraska Lutheran Home in Newman Grove.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, October 17, 2013 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church at Petersburg, with Fr. Stan Schmit officiating.
Interment followed at St. John’s Catholic Cemetery. Levander Funeral Home of Albion is in charge of arrangements.

Elizabeth Frances Friese, daughter of Fred W. and Malinda (Moser) Bode, was born July 25, 1943, at Raeville. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Bonaventure’s Catholic Church at Raeville and attended St. John Berchman School at Raeville.
On June 1, 1964, Betty was united in marriage to Don Friese at St. Bonaventure’s Catholic Church at Raeville. They made their home at Petersburg.
Betty was a homemaker and later worked as a cook at Jack’s Cafe’, M & D Steak House, and the Elgin Bowling Alley. Most recently, she had worked at the Petersburg Senior Center for 15 years and the Albion Country Club for 10 years.
Betty was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and Altar Society.
She loved to play cards, take sisters trips, see movies, read, watch Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and other game shows. She worked crossword puzzles virtually every day of her life.
She is survived by her husband, Don, of Petersburg; a daughter Angela Friese of Hastings; two sons: Tim Friese of Wayne; and Troy Friese and wife Gina of Petersburg; three grandchildren Tyrell (Tennille) Friese; Lorna Boyd; and Bradley Boyd Rucker; one step grand-child Kayla Clyde; two great-grandchildren: Truett and Trytten Friese; six brothers: Bill (Ann) Bode of Lincoln; John (Donna) Bode of Lincoln; Richard “Rick” (Elaine) Bode of Hershey; David “Dave” (Michelle) Bode of Norfolk; Michael “Mike” (Cindy) Bode of Raeville; Eugene “Squeak” Bode of Hershey; four sisters: Jo Ann (John) Waters of Westminster, CO; Mary (Marv) Thieman of Petersburg; Jackie (Bruce) Bode-Steinke of Papillion; and Linda Bode of Omaha. She is preceeded in death by her parents.
