Elizabeth “Betty” A. Temme, 82, of Petersburg, NE passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at the Boone County Health Center in Albion.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday, October 19, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Petersburg, with Rev. Mark Tomasiewicz officiating. Burial followed in the parish cemetery.
Visitation was held Thursday at the church, with a 7 p.m. wake service.

Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Temme was born on July 26, 1936 to Gerhard and Agnes (Oberbrockling) Reestman at Oakdale, NE.
She was baptized on July 27, 1936, received first communion on May 1944, and confirmed on June 7, 1947 all at St. Bonaventure church in Raeville.
Betty attended 1st through 5th grade at St. John Berchman in Raeville, 6th through 8th grade at a country school near Oakdale, 9th through 11th grade at Raeville and graduated from St. John the Baptist in Petersburg in 1954.
After her graduation, Betty worked as a secretary to the county judge at the Antelope County Courthouse for one year.
She married Jerome Temme on Jan. 9, 1956 at Raeville. Betty worked at Wirges Processing, cleaned the rectory in Peters-burg for several years, as well as cleaning several homes in the area.
They resided on a farm east of Petersburg until 1997 when they moved to town.
In May 2017, Betty and Jerome moved to Mid-Nebraska Assisted Living.
She was a member of St. John Catholic Church and served on various church committees including the St. John’s Altar Society where she was circle leader in 1964, 1981, 1995, and vice president in 1973 and 1987.
Her greatest joys were playing cards, gardening, baking and preparing meals for the family or anyone that would stop by.
She loved attending all the children and grandchildren’s games and activities, rarely missing anything.
She is survived by her five children: Debra (Ray) Schlecht of Clearwater; Barbara (Larry) Korth of Randolph, NE; Alan (Jeanne Beierman) Temme of Petersburg; Larry (Radene Naeve) Temme of Petersburg; Tom (Staci Vance) Temme of Newman Grove; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; one brother: Joe Reestman of Oakdale; one brother-in-law: Bernard Wirges of Petersburg; along with many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Jerome; great-granddaughter: Olivia Grace Temme; sisters: Alice (Laurence) Schmitz; Irene (Ben) Camp; Marie (Richard) Zwingman; brothers: Norbert and Ray (Catherine) Reestman; sister-in-law: Emily Reestman; and in-laws: Don (Wanda) Temme; Rose Marie Wirges; and Peg Temme.
