The Elgin City Council met in regular session on Monday,  June 6,  2011,  at 7:30 p.m.,  pursuant to posted notice.  Mayor Schmitt called the meeting to order,  and announced the location of the Open Meeting Act.  Council members present were Shirley Nissen,  Don Mackel,  Jim Kittelson and Kenny Jochum.

Discussions were held:

• County Attorney will prosecute dog running at large citations

• On a new fire storage building with the Rural Fire Board

• Dump station problems

• Need for more camping sites

• No applicants for tree site/compost site supervisor

• Mowing the drainage ditch on Elm Street and Bowen Street

• Getting the fire truck to Elgin

• Previously approved storm sewers repaired

• Red Cross lessons and aerobics dates

• Sub guards are all certified

• Repairs to drinking fountain

• Pool Wages

• Only full time pool employees being allowed to give private lessons

• Purchasing a tractor

• Selling the old loader

• A location to store fire equipment

• Funding options for the proposed fire storage building

• Meeting was adjourned at 9:05 p.m.
