EKG Supports Ballfield Project

Weeks ago, Elgin and area Husker fans gathered in the Fire Hall to cheer the team on to victory over Northwestern.
Proceeds from the event, put on by the Elgin Ko-Ed Group, which ended with a 24 to 13 victory for the Huskers, have been presented to the Ball Diamond Association (BDA) to help with improvements being made to the ballfield complex adjacent to the PJCC school building.
At the ballfield late Monday afternoon, EKG members Adam Veik, Jessie Reestman and Bethany Miller presented Ron Bode, representing the BDA, with a check for $3,500, proceeds from the EKG Tailgate celebration held last month.
Altogether, an estimated $18,000 will be needed to make all the improvements planned before the start of the summer ball season. The purpose for the project is to improve the experience of fans and players alike who use the ballfield during the summer months.
