ELGIN — The Lady Eagles of Elgin High School compiled an 8-15 record during the 2009 season.
“The 2009 volleyball season was truly a fun and exciting year,” Coach Tina Thiele-Blecher said last week. “Our motto this year was ‘dynamite comes in small packages,’ and that is how these girls worked. With only nine players, all of them were constantly working hard during practice and at game time everybody had to be ready for anything. It was a pleasure coaching these girls that worked so well together and didn’t cause any drama. The team would like to thank everyone for the treats, cheers and encouragement throughout the season, it was all much appreciated.”
Junior Michelle Bauer led the team in kills with 185. She was also the leader in digs with 151 and serve receive with 276.
