Early Evening “Flash Flooding” In Elgin

Trucks, cars and kids found several Elgin streets a bit trickier to travel on for a while. A sudden downpour, mixed with pea-sized hail, hit Elgin late in the afternoon.  Lasting about one half hour, street drains around town couldn’t keep up with the heavy rain (we received 1.80″ in our personal rain gauge) and several streets and sections of Highway 14 were under water for a while.  You can see a couple of more photos of the street flooding on our facebook page (The Elgin Review).
