District #18 School Board to Meet Wednesday

Approval of a teacher resignation heads the list of ‘action’ items awaiting the District #18 Board of Education when it meets Wednesday night (tonight).
Instructor Meghan Boyle has submitted her letter of resignation, according to Superintendent Steve Dennis. The board will action on the resignation.
Other items on the action agenda are:
• Approve teacher contract. Interviews have been conducted for the fourth grade teaching position. It’s possible, Dennis indicated, they could have a recommendation by meeting time
• Approve Activities Director Assignment
• Approve non-certificated staff renewals
• Approve elementary summer school
• Approve participation fee for high school extended learning opportunity
• Approve tentative 2012-2013 school calendar
• Approve 2012-2013 high school student handbook
• Approve technology purchase
• Approve computer back-up service
• Approve purchase of stage curtains
• Approve use of school vehicles for summer activities
• Approve second reading of board policies involving student promotion, retention or acceleration; purchasing on behalf of employees; cash in school buildings; disposition of school property; bus safety program; bus fueling and maintenance; bus driver supervision
school-owned vehicles; use of video cameras on school bus; and vending machines
• Approve summer building and grounds projects.

• NVC membership applications
2012-2013 school budget
• Teacher negotiations
The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. in the distance learning room at the high school and is open to the public.
