Following a lengthy public hearing, the District #18 Board of Education Thursday night approved the 2009-2010 school budget.
No changes were made to the budget following its’ publication in the Elgin Review prior to the meeting.
The budget calls for a tax request of $2,107,543.77 for the general fund and another $131,300 for the special building fund. As a result, the total tax levy for District #18 will be 0.818686.
District patron Bob Hoefer raised a number of questions and offered something for the school board to consider during lengthy remarks.
