District #18 School Board Adopts Policies, Approves Salary Increases

Meeting Thursday night, the District #18 Board of Education dealt with a number of policy and handbook items on the agenda.

During the course of the meeting, school board president Laurie Waterbury and board members approved a number of policies (see below).

Superintendent Steve Dennis informed the board that the school, along with Pope John Central Catholic, have renewed their cooperative agreement to compete in NSAA-sanctioned sports during the school year.

EPS will continue to participate with PJCC in junior high sports for the next two years.

The board approved a 2.97 percent salary increase for Superintendent Steve Dennis. The increase will make Dennis’ annual salary $96,000. Dennis is beginning his third year as superintendent here in Elgin.
