Dennis: District #18 2011-2012 Tax Asking to be Similar to Last Year

District #18 Superintendent Steve Dennis gave board members a glimpse of the proposed 2011-2012 school budget Thursday night.

Five board members (Robert Hoefer was excused from the meeting) looked at proposed figures as Dennis outlined what he believes the budget will finally look like.

“We may have to adjust after we see where the bills are (at the end of the month),” he said. “Board expenses will be about the same as what we’ve had. Administration costs will be up just a little bit…Transportation will be up some.”

He said he believes the district is in good shape. “I’m not too worried yet,” he said.

“We’ll be pretty similar in tax asking to what we had last year,” he said. One year ago, the district’s tax asking was $2,432,153.51.
