Lawrence N. Goscha, 87 of Neligh, passed away at his home.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held Friday at St. Fran-cis Catholic Church in Neligh, with Rev. John Broheimer officiating. Interment followed in St. The-resa’s Catholic Cemetery at Clearwater, with military rites by American Legion Post #267 of Clearwater.

Lawrence Nicholas Goscha was born November 13, 1925 near Clearwater, NE. He was one of 13 children born to Nicholas J and Frances B. (Zimmerman) Goscha. He was baptized and confirmed in St. Theresa’s Catholic Church at Clearwater, attended country grade schools and graduated from Clearwater High School in 1942.
Lawrence helped his parents farm until enlisting in the U.S. Navy in 1944. Following an honorable discharge, he returned home to farm with his parents until his father had a farm sale in 1948. He worked construction for a while and then went back to farming with his brother Joe. When he started renting his land out, he worked in real estate sales for a number of years. He moved to Neligh in 2012.
Lawrence is survived by three sisters: Mildred Simmons of Neligh; Lucy Allemang of Neligh; Jean Goscha of Norfolk; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Joe, Martin and Jerome Goscha; six sisters: Helen Dewey, Cecilia Raeside, Christina Goscha; Gail Doyle, Margaret Shavlik, and Joan Goscha.
