David W. Peters 53, of Albion, formerly of Elgin, died Thursday, January 15, 2015 at his home.
Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. Monday, January 19, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Elgin with Rev. Michael Davis and Revs. Ray and Mary Avidano officiating.
Interment will be held at a later date. Huffman-Levander Funeral Home in Elgin.

David Wayne Peters, son of Kenneth and Norma (Swanson) Peters, was born May 13, 1961 at Tilden, NE. He attended Elgin Public Schools, graduating from Elgin High School in 1979.
Dave married Cristi Lee Allen on December 12, 1993 at the Plantation House in Elgin.
They lived in Albion before moving to Kearney and Columbus each for two years, and then back to Albion in 1998. Dave worked a variety of jobs including farming, but driving trucks was his passion. Since the mid 80’s, he has been an independent truck driver, hauling for Behlen Manufacturing for 15 years and more recently for Danielski Farms of Valentine.
Dave was a member of the UCC Congregational Church in Albion and also attended the United Methodist Church in Elgin.
He is survived by his wife Cristi of Albion, step-daughter Cassandra (Issac) Sager of Chadron; step-son: Danny Ridder and friend Malinda of Norfolk; two step-grandchildren: Shaela Ridder and Averyille Sager of Chadron; his mother: Norma Peters; three sisters: Gwen Koinzan, Noreen Weidner and Jean Peters all of Elgin; sister-in-law Rita Peters of Omaha; mother-in-law and step-father-in-law: Barb and Merland Clark of Kearney; father-in-law: Tom Allen (Becky Moyer) of Omaha; sister-in-law: Cheri (Clint) Weber of Baggs, WY, along with many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, two brothers: Myron and Gaylen, and one nephew, Riley Weber.
