Dangerous Dog Breed Ordinance on Council’s Monday Night Agenda

The Elgin City Council will consider action on a dangerous dog breed ordinance when they meet in regular session on Monday, June 3.
The monthly meeting is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. and the first item on the agenda for ‘action’ will be a dangerous dog breed ordinance. According to City Clerk Vicki Miller, no ordinance will be presented for council members to act on, but rather they will discuss what possible actions they can take.
One month ago, council members discussed vicious dogs and what could be done. It was stated then that any dog can become vicious. Consequently, no action was taken.
