CVA Plans Grain, Agronomy Hub Near Royal

Central Valley Ag has announced the purchase of land near Royal, NE. Royal is located between Orchard and Brunswick, NE on Highway 20. The acquired land sits about three miles west of Royal and is located on the NENE Railroad which connects to the Burlington Northern Railroad. The site will be a large grain and agronomy hub for Central Valley Ag.

Construction will begin soon on a state of the art 120-car shuttle train load-out platform and an oval track will be integrated to surround the site. CVA has a similar site near Oakland, NE, which is the basis for the Royal site design.

CVA estimates three million bushels of grain storage will be constructed. With a 30,000-bushel per hour unloading capacity (one semi every two minutes) and a 60,000-bushel per hour loading capacity (16 rail cars per hour). As you can see this facility will be built for customer service in the 21st Century.

Further cutting edge elements include fertilizer infrastructure of over 40,000 tons of dry and liquid storage, a blending facility and a warehouse for crop protection products, bulk seed and seed treatments.

Central Valley Ag surveyed the current market landscape and recognized a need for greater speed and space for grain and agronomy with rail access and marketing opportunities in this part of our trade area in Nebraska.

With this investment, CVA continues to foster its position of leadership and innovation. Doug Derscheid, CEO, Central Valley Ag, stated, “With millions of new bushels raised each year in this geography the appetite for a large grain and agronomy hub on rail for our members, as well as new members will bring many exciting opportunities. CVA will continue to invest in new assets for the customer and agriculture.
