Council Fills Summer Positions, More Coaches Needed

With snow piling up outside, the Elgin City Council spent time inside planning ahead for warmer temperatures and outdoor activities.

At Monday night’s meeting, the Council hired personnel to fill summer job openings.

Sue Vanis was hired to again manage the Elgin Swimming Pool. Other pool staff hired were Jamie Bode as co-manager/lifeguard. Other lifeguards hired for the season were Ashley Bode, Jessica Heithoff and Connor Kinney.

Hired as a summer maintenance employee was Kevin Schindler.

Kimberly Fangman was hired to serve as coach of the girls 14 & under softball team. She was the only person to apply for a coaching position.
