The District #18 Board of Education approved the hiring of Daniel Polk as their new superintendent during a special meeting held Thursday night.
Board members approved a two-year contract with an annual salary of $106,000 plus benefits.
One night earlier, Polk was let out of his two-year contract by the Silver Lake Board of Education.
Polk will assume the role of District #18 superintendent on July 1, 2012.
