The District #18 Board of Education made it official Thursday night, approving a contract for Daniel Polk to become the school’s new superintendent.
A two-year contract was approved for Polk at an annual salary of $106,000 plus benefits. School board president Laurie Waterbury said the benefits package includes full family health and dental, LTD, FICA and retirement. She said the benfits package is worth approximately $35,000, bringing the total package for Polk to approximately $141,000 annually.
Board members unanimously approved the contract which, Waterbury said, had been signed by Polk prior to the meeting.
On Wednesday night, the Silver Lake Board of Education let Polk out of his two-year contract, allowing him to come to Elgin.
