City to Again Seek Bids for New Fire Storage Building

Having been delayed by the calendar several months ago, the Elgin City Council is now moving forward with plans to build a new fire storage building.

At Monday night’s meeting, the Council gave the go-ahead to advertise for bids for the new building which will be constructed at the site of the current storage building once it is torn down.

Advertising for bids must run for three consecutive weeks, starting with the Feb. 15 issue of the Elgin Review. A bid opening has been scheduled for 1 p.m. on Monday, March 5. It’s entirely possible bids could be let that night when the council holds their regular March meeting.
