City Survey is First Step Towards Water Study

Monday night the Elgin City Council set in a motion a plan to have a survey conducted to become eligible to seek funds for a water study which could one day lead to improvements to the city’s water infrastructure.

Anne Thietje-Pantoja, representing the Northeast Nebraska Economic Development District, spoke to the Council on the possibility of pursuing a water study so the community could compete against other communities for a water grant.

In order to do so, the City Council approved the initiation of a survey to be conducted by NENED to determine if the community would be eligible. In order to make that happen, they will need to have 100 percent of the surveys returned to NENED for compilation.
