‘Tis the Holiday Season’ and Elgin residents have lit up the night with numerous Christmas lights and displays.
Every year, to celebrate their achievements, the Elgin Community Club holds a Christmas lighting contest. Several club members are selected to drive through the community and determine who’s lighting display is the best in three different categories: commercial, religious and residential.
On Saturday night, the judging was held and winners were selected. Winners will receive Elgin Bucks. They were:
Commercial — Park Center Daycare located on Bowen Street. The daycare is one of the newest additions to the community, opening its doors last summer.
Religious — The winner in this category was Marilyn Reestman.
Residential — The home and backyard of Mr. and Mrs. Greg Woodard.
