Funeral Services for Charlene Beckman, age 81, of Elgin, NE, were 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at St. Boniface Church in Elgin, NE with Father Kevin Vogel, Officiating.
Music was provided by Shirley Meis and St. Boniface Choir.
Burial was at St. Bonaventure Cemetery at Raeville, NE. Pallbearers were Andrew Beckman, Cole Beckman, Nathan Beckman, Tim Nelson, Kenny Gilbertson, and Ryan Beckman.
Visitation was from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Monday, August 13, 2018 at St. Boniface Church in Elgin, NE with Rosary at 7:00.
Charlene passed away Saturday, August 11, 2018 at Neligh Care and Rehabilitation Center in Neligh.

Elena “Charlene” Beckman was born on November 27, 1936 to Amanda (Westover) and Norbert Burkhart at Cherry Tree, PA. She grew up in Pennsylvania until the age 12 and then in Iowa until 1954 when she graduated High School at Villisca, IA. Charlene than moved to Omaha, NE.
On November 26, 1955, she was united in marriage to Walter Beckman at St. John’s Catholic Church in Omaha. They moved to Elgin after 1957 when Walt took over the farm his father farmed.
She was a 4-H leader for 27 years, member of VA Aux,, Christian Mothers, Altar Society and Extension Club. She enjoyed family, cake decorating, cooking, baking, canning.
She was survived by Nancy Mattea of Kansas City MO., Sharon Nelson of Pierce NE, Dan (Becky) Beckman of Laurel, NE, Sue (Brad) Larson of Savannah MO, Charles (Tracie) Beckman of Clearwater, NE, Michael Beckman of Williston ND and Dennis (Kasandra) Beckman of Neligh, NE., 17 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her spouse Walter, daughter Jeannette, and siblings Hadyden Westorer, Lillian Burkurt, and Wanda Phillips.
