Catherine A. Reestman, 91 of Elgin, NE passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Neligh, NE
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 17, 2016 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church at Raeville, NE with Rev. Ross Burkhalter officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
Visitation will be 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church with a 7:30 p.m. wake service.

Catherine Angelinia Reestman, daughter of Henry and Angelinia (Van Ert) Zwingman, was born December 20, 1924 at Petersburg, NE.
She was baptized and confirmed at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Raeville, NE, where she was a lifetime member.
Catherine attended her early years of school at St. John’s in Petersburg, before moving east of Elgin and attended the District #36 “Star School” through the 10th grade.
Catherine married Raymond Joseph Reestman on January 20, 1948 at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church.
Following their marriage, they resided on their farm east of Elgin for 45 years, working together farming and raising livestock.
In 1994 they moved into Elgin, and in the fall of 2014, they entered the Golden Living Center in Neligh, NE.
Catherine loved being a housewife and mother to their children.
Catherine was a member of and held many offices with the St. Bonaventure Christian Mothers. She also was a member of the Woman’s Club, Woman’s Legion Auxiliary, and Farmerett Extension Club.
She loved to entertain family and friends with her baking and cooking, caring for her flowers, gardening, crafting, bowling, playing cards, many other games, crocheting, sewing, fancy work, and enjoyed working at the Senior Center.
She especially loved being with and attending her grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s events.
Catherine is survived by her daughter: Janice K. (Duane) Esau of Elgin, NE; son: Roger A. Reestman of Omaha, NE; her daughter-in-law: Marilyn Reestman of Elgin, NE; five grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Jerome Temme and Betty Temme of Petersburg, NE; Joe Reestman of Oakdale, NE; Darold Henke of Arizona; Margaret Zwingman of California; and Leona Zwingman of O’Neill, NE; along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Ray in 2015; son Ron Reestman in 2001; four brothers: Anthony, Clarence, Richard and Donald Zwingman; and a sister Dorothy Henke.
