Funeral Services for Catherine M. Hemenway age 85 of Clearwater, NE were at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at St. John’s Catholic Church rural Clearwater, NE with Father John Norman, officiating.
Music was provided by Tom Kimes, Mark and Julie Dwyer, and St. John’s Choir.
Burial was at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Shawn Hemenway, Eric Hemenway, Jace Hemenway, B.J. Anderson, Blaine Anderson, Brett Hemenway, Brandon Hemenway, Morgan Beals and Aaron Hemenway. Honorary Pallbearers were her nieces and nephews.
Visitation was 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Monday, April 16, 2018 with a 7:00 p.m. Wake Service at St. John’s Catholic Church.
Snider Memorial Funeral Home in Clearwater is handling the arrangements.

Catherine Mary Hemenway was born on October 5, 1932 to John and Mary (Beckman) Starman on the family farm West of Elgin. She grew up on the farm with her brothers and sister, attended St. Boniface Catholic School in Elgin, and graduated in 1950. She was married to George Hemenway on December 28, 1968, and became the stepmother to seven children. She was a member of the Christian Mothers at St. John’s for many years. Catherine enjoyed working in the garden and playing cards.
She is survived by her husband George Hemenway of 49 years, stepchildren: Barb (Guy) Beals of Bailey, CO; Bev Anderson of Kathryn, ND; Donna (Mike) Fancher of Colorado Springs, CO; Terry (Trish) Hemenway of Orchard, NE; Tim (Dawna) Hemenway of Clearwater, NE; and 20 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by stepchildren, Bonnie Hemenway and Dan Hemenway; son-in-law Robert Anderson; parents John and Mary Starman; brothers Herman Starman and Eddie Starman; and sister Helen Venteicher.
