Borer, Dwyers Chosen as ‘Volunteers of the Year’ at St. Boniface

The St. Boniface / St. Bonaventure Parish Picnic was held August 21st on the St. Boniface grounds.

A large number of parishioners were in attendance to enjoy a pork bar-b-que meal sponsored by the Stewardship Committee with assistance from the Altar Society.

The St. Boniface Stewardship Committee unveiled their selection for the 2009-10 Volunteer of the Year.

This year two awards were granted.

Mark & Julie Dwyer were chosen for the many ways they give of their musical talent to the parish.

They have provided vocal and guitar music for the parish for nearly 35 years, as well as serving as cantor for the choir, and playing for wakes, weddings, and school Masses.

The Dwyers help coordinate the Children’s Choir and have provided entertainment through the years for many parish social events.

Gary Borer was chosen to be awarded with the Volunteer of the Year for over 15 years of cleaning snow from the parish, school and gym parking lots with his tractor. He was always the first to arrive on scene after the many snow events during those years.
